About the Work
Vaida Valanciunaite is an up-and-coming artist whose layered, textural works in wax and mixed media invite a dialogue between surface and depth. Rooted in conceptual inquiry and an intuitive engagement with material, her paintings and installations explore themes of memory, transformation, and the poetics of the everyday.
Each piece is defined by Vaida’s hands-on approach and her commitment to experimental materiality—whether she’s drawing the translucency of encaustic wax, harvesting heirloom pigments, or re-imagining found textiles. With a background spanning Lithuania, Barcelona and Groningen, she is forging a distinct path in contemporary abstraction, blending artistic innovation with mindful craft.
